This nice 1 bedroom condo at a ski-in/ski-out property located at the corridor run connecting base of Mary Jane to the base of Winter Park. It features a queen bed in the bedroom and Murphy queen sized bed plus a sleeper sofa in the living room. A full bathroom with tub and shower combined. A fully equipped kitchen with full size oven and fridge with built in microwave makes meal preparation easy. Taking a quick lunch or mid-day ski break is a breeze while staying here. A dining table for 4, in living room you will also have a chimney and a door to your private balcony.

For Winter reservations:
Iron Horse is located on the corridor run that connects the base of Mary Jane to the base of Winter Park.
This corridor run (marked as a green run on the trail map) is about 1 mile long. Base of Mary Jane sits higher (elevation wise) than base of Winter Park.
From Iron Horse you ski down 1/4 mile to base of Winter Park, and to ski home you must go over the Mary Jane saide to catch the corridor run. Iron Horse is located 3/4 mile down the corridor run from Mary Jane.
To get to the base of Mary Jane, you will have to be able to manage a blue trail. (just fyi)
You do also have the option to use the free shuttle offered by Town of Winter Park. Iron Horse Resort is on the “green line”

Make sure you bring your swimsuits as this complex offers a year-round indoor/outdoor heated pool and two large outdoor hot tubs in addition to a fitness room with steam rooms and showers.

The unit provides two parking passes. Garage parking is for one vehicle on a first come first serve basis. There is a lost pass replacement fee.

For added convenience a full-service ski shop with rental options is located on the property. Washers and dryers are available on the second floor of the D building. Level 5 in the D building provides a room for ski storage and ski-in/ski-out access (green corridor). The free Lift bus also picks up frequently at the main entrance for easy shuttle service to the Village.

There is common ski storage located on the fifth floor of the D building, in the back of building near the doors to the corridor ski run. However, locks for rack are not provided. If you would like to buy a ski lock to secure skis here, you must go to front desk and they are available for $35. Note this specific lock/rack combination does not work for snowboards.

For our fellow mountain bike lovers: we are very sorry, but management does not allow bicycles stored inside condos or on balconies. To prevent mud and chain oil damage to our carpets, as well as handle bar scratches on the walls; we must kindly ask you to not store bikes inside the condo. We are working with the HOA of all our properties to figure out bike storage in the long term as our mountain sports grow in popularity. Thank you for your understanding.

Please note if you are arriving by train, there is no facility on-site for luggage storage.

Winter Park Resort is only 0.6 miles away and the FREE resort shuttle will drop you off right in the middle of the resort base village which includes the lifts for skiing/boarding/mountain biking, snow tubing, hiking, ice skating, shopping, dining, scheduled entertainment, and other attractions including several summer activities.. The Foundry is just 4.6 miles away with bowling alley, movie theater and brick oven pizza bar. Safeway grocery store at Fraser is just 6.1 miles away.

    Iron Horse property is very nice. The public spaces are very welcoming and nicely maintained. Just an FYI - there is no staff on site. This is not an issue necessarily, there’s just no one at the desk to ask questions about the area. Check in and check out was very easy.
    We did have some issues with the actual unit - C 2103. Kate from the management company was very friendly and helpful. It was very warm the day we got there and only one window opened. She had a maintenance guy out that evening to help us. If you are a warm person, this may not be the unit for you. There is not much breeze and does not cool down much at night - no A/C. Fans are provided, so does help.
    The ice machine in the fridge doesn’t work - ice cube trays provided but no ice machine on site. So if you need ice that first night - stop in town and pick some up.
    The toilet was an issue. It didn’t always want to flush. I was told they would look into it and it should be fixed for the next renters.
    Overall our start was good. That unit was still a fairly good value for the area.

    We had a lovely stay at the Iron Horse in Winter Park. The condo aesthetic is dated (exactly as the photos are shown), but it is still charming and very clean. The instructions for check in and out were very clear and easy. Unfortunately, the hot tub was under maintenance while we were there but there was still a warm pool available if desired. The condo facilities were very nice and clean, and it was very quiet. The access to the mountain is a very short walk right behind the condo, and the ski run that connected us to the base could be seen from our room. Overall good experience!

    Everything works the way it should. Except the master bedroom mattress sacked like a bath tub.if it's replace would works great over all. Double Kitchen dishes bowls etc. Would save energy from washing small load.
    Toilet not flush right but keep an eyes on would be save from seeing floating back up.
    Other than that everything works. Great location for us.

    This unit fits our needs very well - 3 beds that were comfortable and very close to east entrance of Winter Park. It would be a bit small for 4 adults but good for 2 or 3. Easy to get in/out of underground parking garage. If you care about location, extra beds and not a big TV, this is for you.

    We had a phenomenal time at this rental as a family of 5. Despite only 1 BR and 3 boys (age 7,9,11) we were actually quite comfortable in this rental for 5 days. The building access codes made it easy for everyone to jump to their desired activities whether skiing or swimming. The ski lock and direct access to trail simply can’t be beat. While the property is not particularly fancy, it was comfortable and great value for the space and access. I have no hesitation recommending this rental.

    Unit and complex very dated. Kitchen minimally equipped. Garage access height does not permit SUV with a roof box to enter. Area behind Murphy bed needed cleaning. Location is great.

    The condominium was clean, pleasantly furnished and decorated, and convenient to the slopes. The management staff were thoughtful and responsive. I have a few suggestions for enhancements:
    1. Fix the left shade in the living room, which is stuck in the up position.
    2. Improve lighting in the bathroom. The tub and toilet area in particular is a bit dismal.
    3. Swap positions of the hair dryer and light switch in the bathroom. As it is, the dryer is in the way when you try to turn on the light.
    4. Consider upgrading appliances. They work, but are a bit dated.

    Some what dated, but well worth the price compared to other 1 BRs at Iron Horse. Very convenient location if you don't mind a few stairs rather than going to opposite end of bldg for elevator.

    We had a great experience overall except we had some difficulty with the code to get into the building and our room. Our code seem to not have worked both days we stayed and had to call our contact person to get a new code. Also the ski out is not convenient for snowboarders because the ground is too flat. Other than that, the room was clean and comfortable.

    My family of 4 had a great time at the Iron Horse. The condo is nothing flashy but was very comfortable and had everything we needed. The proximity to the slopes can't be beat, and the hot tubs and heated pool were huge hits with the kids and my aching ski muscles. We received excellent service from the property manager when we had a question. Great stay — we'll be back!

    I stayed here with my husband, 2 teenage daughters, and my mother in-law. We all had plenty of space to sleep. It was clean, comfortable, and well stocked. I didn’t do any cooking but would have had everything I needed. I would definitely stay here again.
