Stunning mountain views of Winter Park's iconic Bear Claw Mountain await you at this ski-in/ski-out studio condo. It features a queen Murphy bed and a sleeper sofa. A fully equipped kitchen with full size oven and fridge with built in microwave makes meal preparation easy. Taking a quick lunch or mid-day ski break is a breeze while staying here. You will also have a great living room with chimney, dining table for 4 and door to your private balcony.

Iron Horse is conveniently located right off the corridor trail (1/4 mile from the new Zephyr Gondola) and base activities. Easily return to the condo for lunch or to warm up.

For Winter reservations:
Iron Horse is located on the corridor run that connects the base of Mary Jane to the base of Winter Park.
This corridor run (marked as a green run on the trail map) is about 1 mile long. Base of Mary Jane sits higher (elevation wise) than base of Winter Park.
From Iron Horse you ski down 1/4 mile to base of Winter Park, and to ski home you must go over the Mary Jane saide to catch the corridor run. Iron Horse is located 3/4 mile down the corridor run from Mary Jane.
To get to the base of Mary Jane, you will have to be able to manage a blue trail. (just fyi)
You do also have the option to use the free shuttle offered by Town of Winter Park. Iron Horse Resort is on the “green line

Make sure you bring your swimsuits as this complex offers a year-round indoor/outdoor heated pool and two large outdoor hot tubs in addition to a fitness room with steam rooms and showers.

The unit provides two parking passes. Garage parking is for one vehicle on a first come first serve basis. There is a lost pass replacement fee.

For added convenience a full-service ski shop with rental options is located on the property. Washers and dryers are available on the second floor of the D building. Level 5 in the D building provides a room for ski storage and ski-in/ski-out access (green corridor). The free Lift bus also picks up frequently at the main entrance for easy shuttle service to the Village.

There is common ski storage located on the fifth floor of the D building, in the back of building near the doors to the corridor ski run. However, locks for rack are not provided. If you would like to buy a ski lock to secure skis here, you must go to front desk and they are available for $35. Note this specific lock/rack combination does not work for snowboards.

For our fellow mountain bike lovers: we are very sorry, but management does not allow bicycles stored inside condos or on balconies. To prevent mud and chain oil damage to our carpets, as well as handle bar scratches on the walls; we must kindly ask you to not store bikes inside the condo. We are working with the HOA of all our properties to figure out bike storage in the long term as our mountain sports grow in popularity. Thank you for your understanding.

Winter Park Resort is only w miles away and the FREE resort shuttle will drop you off right in the middle of the resort base village which includes the lifts for skiing/boarding/mountain biking, snow tubing, hiking, ice skating, shopping, dining, scheduled entertainment, and other attractions including several summer activities. The swimming pool and gym are 4.7 miles at Grand Park Rec Center with multiple swimming pools, a waterslide, full gym with indoor track, huge rock climbing wall, gymnasium, and children's playground. The Foundry is next door to the Rec Center with a bowling alley, movie theater and brick oven pizza bar. Safeway grocery store at Fraser is just 6.1 miles away.

Please note if you are arriving by train, there is no facility on-site for luggage storage.

    We had a wonderful time here. The unit and building were very clean, and the ski storage/access are excellent. The trail from the condo to the WP base is fairly flat, so it requires some skating, but my kids and I managed it without difficulty. The hot tubs and pool are great. Our only snafu was that the door codes we were given didn't work when we arrived, but the owners were immediately responsive and got us working codes right away. I highly recommend this unit!

    Perfect. Excellent service from management. Nice amenities. Parking situation was terrific too. Sometimes with an oversize vehicle like mine you have to park so far away but we were right outside the door. Had one small insignificant issue that I messaged management about and Charlotte was calling me within seconds. Second to none. Will be back.

    We booked last minute for just an overnight so my husband & kids could hit the slopes first thing without having to get up super early and driving up the mountain. It was a bit small for 4 of us but we were literally there less than 24 hours so we were able to make it work. The fold out sofa bed was quite squeaky which made it a little difficult for everyone to sleep. But the location was great with the direct access to ski out. And the included underground parking was a bonus since it snowed pretty hard while we were there!

    I had a great stay at the unit at Iron Horse. I have 2 recommendations about the unit: Install a 52” ceiling fan in the center of the unit. It will cool the place perfectly! I know these are not commonplace in your area, but they work. Second, the bath hot water is temperamental. I am concerned that I child could get scalded. Consider a new Temptrol valve. Lastly, regarding the property in general, the pool looked great, but the hot tub did not look inviting. (One was out of order.) It did not look clean enough for me. Overall, I had an incredible time and would definitely rent again! Thanks for a great time!

Not sure how we could install a ceiling fan as the ceilings are not pre-wired for a fan to be installed, but can sure try to see if the owner would consider investing to have an electrician to come in and cut in the ceilings to get electricity up there. We do leave a couple of fans, and if you open the patio door + door to hallway, it does not take more than 15-20 mins to get the temperature down in the condo. Will for sure get the water temp checked out (thanks for bringing this important issue to our attention so we can address it) Hope you had a great time visiting your son

    If you truly want to ski in and ski out this is the place. It was clean and convenient - a bit no frills but exactly what we needed - only thing to know is the bed is very soft - so if that's a concern be aware.

    I think the property is dated, the TV was old, there appeared to be a water leak as some point near fire place as the paint was bubbling. The shades need some work. Otherwise I was happy with the property.

It is on schedule to be repaired (as well as the shades), but we need 3 days to repair the water leak damage, and unfortunately (fortunately for us *smile) the condo has been booked with no days open for us to work on it. I have emailed owner in hope they will consider buying a new TV. Your feedback truly appreciated !

    We have stayed in other units at Iron Horse and appreciate the ski-in/ski-out aspect. The cabinets and decor are dated, but this unit had a great stove and the kitchen equipment met our needs. The bed was very comfortable.

    I couldn't get the hairdryer to work and the shower pressure was on the low side. The bathtub drain was also super slow.

    Would have appreciated the check-in info to more clearly indicate that parking under D results in many elevator trips to access the fourth floor of building C. An extra note about that in the check-in paperwork would have been very helpful. Bigger type on the check-in info would also be helpful!

      Thanks for staying with us and sharing your experience as well. I will get someone up to check on the hairdryer (and replace it if needed) plus look at the drain in the bathtub. I will check with the HOA about the water pressure issue as well. Should you ever encounter issues (eg non-working hairdryer) during your stay, please do not hesitate to contact us while staying and we will take care of it right away. In regards to the check in instructions. From how I am reading the comment, it appears that you did not use the underground parking in C building (but instead use the D bldg garage) We do quite a few reservations each year at Iron Horse, and while this is the first time I have heard that our instructions are not clear, I will re-read them and see if we can improve them.

    Having stayed in this same condo in the past, we knew what to expect and found it clean and as comfortable as a studio can be. It was unfortunate that the outdoor hot tub needed to be closed and, given COVID constraints on eating out, it places a greater need to cook all meals in the condo - given the limited cookware in this unit, that was quite a challenge.

    Overall, the place was great. My two kids and I shared the place and it was plenty large enough for our needs. We couldn't use the pull out bed (sofa) as the mattress was really uncomfortable (both my 9 & 11 year old said it was really uncomfortable feeling the springs through the thin mattress). Also, when we arrived, one hot tub was closed for maintenance. On our last night (of 3), the other hot tub was also closed. Not really a fault of this place, but pretty disappointing.

    The pull out couch was unacceptable. Absolutely the worst mTtress ever. Needs replacement or only advertise for 2 people. Management was great. They brought us two twins so we could sleep on floor. The unit is extremely small. No door on the bathroom either. Privacy is an issue if you aren’t family. Also door to women’s locker was not working.

    i traveled from Detroit to Denver on Monday February 3rd and then drove to the iron horse condominiums. I found quite easy to locate and got there at about 3. Pm. I unloaded bags and groceries and took the green bus to the base to pick up my pass for the next three days. Once I had the pass I decided to walk back to the condo to get a bit of exercise As I had been sitting all day. It was an easy walk but you wouldn’t want to do it in ski boots. After that my friends arrived they put there things away and we caught up over dinner. The kitchen had everything we need to prepare a meal. We continued to catch up and plan the next day of skiing before we went to sleep. There were three of us so it was pretty tight being in a studio but not to the point we were uncomfortable. I would recommend bringing an air mattress if you have more than two people as the fold out couch is worse than the floor, as most of them are. We slept great and skied all day Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday. It was great to come back to the condo for lunch and not have to spend the money on the mountain. The ski in/out made for easy access to the gondola. Also convenient was the ski depot rental shop inside the condo complex. They were quite late on the day we needed them but made up for it with thorough courteous service. They even recommended a powder ski on my last day as we had 10” of snow. It was perfect. All in all we enjoyed our stay. A few things to work on would be the following; Hot tub was not hot, 12 digit code to get in the building seemed excessive, as did th six digit room code. We didn’t watch much tv, but the tv could definitely be updated.

    First thing's first: The slopeside access to Corridor trail is from 5th floor D building. This condo is in C, which is connected to D on the 5th floor. All in all, this 4th floor condo provided easy access to skiing.
    The locker rooms are protected by key-code. There are no individual lockers, and the ski racks can lock your skis if you have the "Ski-Lock".
    The condo itself is cozy, and special consideration should be given if more than 2 adults are planning to stay. Everything was in working order and very clean. If you're looking for a granite countertop, flat screen TV, and high end appliances, look elsewhere. But this condo provides everything you need for easy access to WP.

    Short (but great) stay. Comfortable bed hidden in the wall. Kitchen worked great for us for the few meals that we prepared. Condo was clean. Easy to check in when you have all the details upfront (sent by very attentive management company) Will for sure come back
