Zephyr Mountain Lodge # 1416

This is one of the larger two bedroom units in Zephyr and sleeps 8. It has awesome views of the divide, and a boot dryer to keep your feet dry and warm. Steps from the elevator make it easy to get to the chairlift.

King size bed in the primary bedroom along with twin bunk beds and en-suite bath. The second bedroom has a queen sized bed. There is a pull out couch with a super comfy 4.5 inch memory foam mattress in the living room. The kitchen offers everything you'll need to cook a warm meal. Free Wi-Fi.

This property uses the Triple Sheet Method where we use two sheets to encase the comforter. This sheet-made duvet cover gets washed between each and every guest to provide an extra clean sleeping experience.

Zephyr has four hot tubs, a fitness room, heated underground parking, onsite ski shops and close proximity to restaurants and shopping. There is also a nearby ice skating rink. Each condo has a full service kitchen. Washer and Dryers are located on every floor. Unit is located on 4th floor in Slopeside building facing The Village and Continental Divide.

For our fellow mountain bike lovers: we are very sorry, but management does not allow bicycles stored inside condos or on balconies. To prevent mud and chain oil damage to our carpets, as well as handle bar scratches on the walls; we must kindly ask you to not store bikes inside the condo. We are working with the HOA of all our properties to figure out bike storage in the long term as our mountain sports grow in popularity. Thank you for your understanding.

Heated attached underground parking will keep you and your vehicle out of the elements (parking fee during ski-season $21/ per vehicle per day). Ski locker is included.

Hot tub hours: 8 am to 10 pm (Mon through Sun)

Please note if you are arriving by train, there is no facility on-site for luggage storage.

The resort base village includes the lifts for skiing/boarding/mountain biking, snow tubing, hiking, ice skating, shopping, dining, scheduled entertainment, and other attractions including several summer activities. The swimming pool and gym are just 4.1 miles away at the Grand Park Rec Center with multiple swimming pools, a waterslide, full gym with indoor track, huge rock climbing wall, gymnasium, and children's playground. The Foundry is next door to the Rec Center with a bowling alley, movie theater and brick oven pizza bar. Safeway grocery store is 5.6 miles away in the town of Fraser.

  This was our second stay at Zephyr Mountain Lodge, but a different apartment. We love Winter Park and Zephyr is a very convenient place to stay.
  
  We like having ski lockers and being able to ski right out the back of the hotel (slope side building). Views are nice, staff is great, nice beds (not great pillows though), all fairly well maintained.
  
  My only real gripe would be that the rooms get HOT. We turned the 2 thermostats down to 41F, essentially off, but it was still hot. I suspect the thermostats are dummies and not connected to actual heating control. On both stays, we had to open the patio door and leave it cracked all night, which then resulted in super dry air and sinus issues. Room had little portable humidifiers, and they helped a little, but not enough.
  
  The particular unit we were in this time was a two bedroom, but the master bedroom had a king and a twin bunk bed, while the 2nd had a queen. We slept in the queen, and our teen kids used the king and one of the bunks. So kids had the better bathroom, while we had to walk across hall. Just not ideal setup.
  
  Oh, room had a playstation 3, but none of the controllers worked, so couldn't use it. Saw an xbox in closet, but it didn't work either. I was actually kind of glad, because I didn't want kids tempted by either.
  
  Facility has hot tubs, which was very nice after long day skiing. So take swimsuits.
  
  Winter Park stores and restaurants close EARLY, like 7pm to 8pm at the latest. The lifts close at 4pm. So as soon as the lifts close, you need to get ready and have an early dinner. Only one pizza place delivers (Elevation Pizza), and it is not good... jalapeno or something in their sauce, overwhelmed taste with heat. Instead, walk over to Pedal'd Pizza or to Docs. Or take a Lyft or bus into town for more options. The Smokehouse BBQ place is good, with not too long a wait. Other places have crazy waits, so get there really early or you won't get to have dinn

I will make sure that we check on the pillows and replace what is needed to be replaced right away (Friday March 25th when we clean after current guest) Regarding the set up: the smaller bedroom does not have room for a king bed = we do not have a way to change the set up having the 2 extra sleeping arrangements in the bunk beds) It can be a little difficult getting dinner reservations at peak days such as NY and Spring Break. Have not had issues with the heat before, but will make sure that we get the thermostats checked.

  The main couch has had its day, the cushions would slide out while you sit on it. So we could not relax in the living room.   Great property if it just had some money invested back into it. Property has never been updated. I have stayed at the Zephyr properties for the last 10 years. I have seen a lot of updates done to these condos. Property owners need to invest back into there investment. (Toaster is broken, remote needed batteries, couch cushiywill not stay on it at all, shower faucet leaks so bad while using it, need more bowls and new coffee mugs)

  You can't beat this ski in/ski out location. The condo we stayed in had everything we needed in the kitchen. The bathroom had an air dryer for hats/mittens/scarves, which was awesome! The 2-bedroom condo comfortably slept our family of 5 for a week, but I can't imagine trying to squeeze 8 into the space. Housekeeping was ok. I am pretty sure they didn't change the comforters for us because they were filthy. I wish they offered towel service, 8 towels for a family for one week isn't enough. Also-only provided 2 garbage bags which really is insufficient for a one week stay. That said, we are already booking for next Christmas because the location is the best.

  To be honest, I was skeptical about this place because it was more expensive than others I looked at....but I wanted to try to stay at the slopes at Winter Park once. Well, I loved it.
  
  I have skied Winter Park for many years, taking groups from the south and string everywhere from the old town to the YMCA Snow Mountain Ranch....and everything in between. Nothing can beat the convenience of staying at this place. The lockers were located so conveniently to the slopes, skiing in and out was great, the village has everything you need to eat or do.....we never moved our car!
  
  I would rate this unit as high as it can be rated. I would have loved a washer/dryer in the unit......but I have no complaints at all.

  The unit was clean and well kept. The major issue we had was the fact that the entire condo was very stuffy and had poor air circulation. Fortunately there was a fan in the condo so we could move air within the unit but if we would not have had the fan it would not have been very uncomfortable in the unit.

    Thanks for staying with us! Unfortunately no condo complexes in Winter Park have A/C and it can be an issue for a couple hot days during the summer. Opening the windows and the balcony door solves the problem especially when it cools down in the evening. Next time give us a call and we could even provide an additional fan or two.   Zephyr was a great location! Overall, we thought the unit small. The bedrooms were spacious, especially the master, with the king bed and twin bunk beds. The actual living area was small and we, more than once, bumped into the kitchen table/chairs. They did provide dish soap, dishwasher soap, shampoo/body wash, conditioner, and then there were many condiments leftover, including coffee and filters, that were there. There were room fans, but no air conditioning. Leaving the windows open was not an option as there were many noisy activities going on outside.

  Very convenient to the slopes and walkable to everything in the village. I'd stay here again. Don't rent from Breeze unless you want to drive to get your skis. There is a ski shop below the condos which is ideal.

  Check in was as easy as you can imagine: either receive the key in the mail, or if you book late (like me)- just pick it up from the lockbox (with the code provided) next to the front desk.
  The garage was easy to use and relatively cheap ($14/day) for the area.
  The rooms were spacious enough- especially when you wake up in the morning and realize that you're only carrying your skis out the door to ski right down to the lifts. Very affordable ski-in/ski-out!

  The location was great and the price was good. The resort management were very responsive to our questions and needs during our stay. The unit was comfortable, but were hot at night so we slept with the windows open. Unfortunately there were a lot of college students vacationing before they returned to school. They would leave trash in the hall or stairwell's and were noisy at night. Overall the experience was good and I would rent again.

  We had a great time. The location of condo is perfect for vacationers looking for tons of skiiing. Stay right on the slope and ski down for lunch and dinner. I had read the furtinute was broken on previous posts, but it appeared to be recently replaced on our visit. If you plan to cook, kitchen equipment is minimal, so be sure you have what you will need to make you items. All I all a great stay! Would recommend location and unit for a wonderful ski trip.

  Winter Park is fabulous! The unit was a good size and comfortable. The only problem was that although main furniture surfaces were clean, blinds were covered in dust and some kind of carpet fresh or other scented air freshener was used. Normal people would likely be fine, but I'm allergy prone and the dust & scent factor made my allergy symptoms flare.

  I loved this VRBO. It was right next to the elevators which was very convenient in my opinion. I never heard hallway noise as others mentioned. This is a very comfortable unit with the added bonus of bunk beds. Its in the perfect location in Winter Park...I dont know how you could be any closer unless you sleep on the gondola. I would book this unit again in a fact, I might for next year.

  The condo unit was perfectly clean and a fantastic location. We had a great time! We are a family of 5 adults and the unit fit our needs. The living room is smaller than I expected but we liked being "forced" to be in close proximity to each other. The bigger bedroom is awkwardly big with a king bed and a set of bunks. It would be great for a family with younger kids.

  So this is my family's 4th year in a row to stay at ZML in a 2 bedroom unit so we feel like we know what to expect. It's a very clean unit but just needs a little attention to make it a great one.
  
  The pro's:
  -Very comfortable beds - best we've slept on at ZML!!!
  -Lots of towels. May not seem like a huge deal but when you go to the hot tub most nights you need a few extra.
  -Huge new refrigerator. Again, may not seem like a big deal but if you are cooking and have tons of ingredients plus beer, you'll appreciate it.
  -ZML is the best location to ski Winter Park - there is no question here.
  
  The con's:
  -Poorly stocked kitchen - very few cooking utensils compared to the other units I've stayed in. Needs more mixing bowls and Tupperware type bowls at a minimum. We had to mix cookie dough in a frying pan because the one decent sized bowl was already in use.
  -Horrible WiFi. This may not be their fault but it was pathetic.
  -The couches are completely dilapidated. They look OK but sit in it and you'll see what I mean.
  -Nothing the owners can do about this but you are very close to the elevators - I didn't hear the elevators but people on that side of the building have to walk past your room to get to the their very loud ski boots.
  
  I put that I wouldn't recommend it but it isn't because it's horrible, I just think there are better units at ZML. Update the kitchen gear, fix the WiFi and replace the couch and this is a unit I would absolutely return to.

    Thanks for taking your time writing about your experience in this 2 bedroom @ Zephyr Mountain Lodge. Lots of positive points and some constructive criticism. Will make sure that we check kitchen for bowls for cooking. Unfortunately we are not able to do much about the wi-fi connection (a part of our HOA) It is indeed a known factor throughout entire Winter Park that during PEAK times Internet slows down. 5-7 times more people in the valley, and towers etc just can't keep up with the massive amount of people. Really does not matter which property you stay on, they all have problems with Internet on peak days throughout the ski-season:( Unit is a few doors down from elevator. Same again - lots of people during New Year - ...and with many people = more traffic in hallways and everywhere else on property / slopes etc. For the most part, I would tho say - that the traffic in the hallway isn't constant. Mostly when people head out skiing...and when they come back. It should not be a problem late at night and brighten early in the morning. (at least not from my experience)

  This place was awesome! We went to Winter Park in July 2015, mainly for my guys to do some downhill mountain biking. Zephyr Mountain Lodge is right in the heart of the resort area, so the location can’t be beat. Our unit was a 2 bedroom, 2 bath, with a full kitchen, nice living area and balcony; and all the rooms had great views. I watched the full moon come up over the mountain the first night, which was an incredible sight. Very nice furnishings, clean, plenty of towels and toiletries, comfortable beds, and the kitchen was nicely stocked with more than just the basics. We were allowed to bring the bikes to the room so that was an added bonus. The management company was super to deal with, both before and during our stay. We were allowed to check in early and check out late, which was really helpful. If you’re looking for a great place to stay in Winter Park, I highly recommend this unit. We would stay there again in a heartbeat.

There are cages in the parking garage for everyone to store their bikes - we DO NOT want them in the unit (make carpets dirty, scratches on walls etc) and our HOA does not want the bikes in the elevators either. This must have been a simple misunderstanding between guest and us. I am however glad that guest enjoyed the condo and all the great things that comes with it!!!

  The property worked very well for our family. There was plenty of room to accommodate my husband and I and our daughter and her family. The kitchen was well stocked and we ate most of our meals there. The only disappointing feature was the very small storage locker . It would only hold a fraction of our ski equipment so we stored the rest in our cars. We were in the parking garage so that was not too big a problem.
